What inspired you to get into design?
I’m excited to be approaching graduation from the Interior Design Program at the University of Miami! Interior design has always intrigued me, but it wasn’t until after graduating from the University of Central Florida that I decided to take my passion to the next level. Having moved around frequently throughout my life, I developed a deep appreciation for creating spaces that reflected who I was at each stage of my journey. This process of shaping new environments became something I truly connected with and grew to love.
What is your current favorite design trend?
As simple as it may sound, my favorite trend is color. There’s often a misconception that color is difficult to work with or can be too overpowering. However, when designers use bold colors, they’re embracing a fearless approach—blending vibrant, saturated shades while ensuring they don’t overwhelm the space. I’m also really drawn to the trend of pattern mixing. This ties into the common fear of using color, but when done thoughtfully, combining patterns and colors can create a visually dynamic space that feels cohesive rather than chaotic. It’s about finding the right balance, where contrasting elements come together in a way that enhances the overall design.
Who is your favorite celebrity designer?
My favorite TV designer has to be Galey Alix. She hosts a show on HBO Max called Home in a Heartbeat, and I truly connect with her background and the way she approaches both design and life. What I admire most about Galey Alix Design is that it’s not focused on decor, building a brand, or curating a lifestyle. As she puts it, "In its simplest form, it’s the result of an object in motion being acted upon by an unbalanced force. And that unbalanced force… was me." I love how she embodies that philosophy, bringing her own unique energy and perspective to every project.
Do you have any design specialties?
I would describe my design specialty as coastal and farmhouse styles. These two aesthetics have always been, and will continue to be, my favorites and personal preferences. I’m naturally drawn to the color palettes that both styles offer, which resonate with my sense of warmth and tranquility.
